@haqqacademy: Every cause through which good reaches you is itself a blessing from Allah. This is one of the beautiful implications of Allah's Name al-Awwal — the First. Allah's favour precedes every blessing you receive. He is the One who created the means, prepared them, brought them together, and made them effective. So when you receive a blessing, do not merely look at the means through which it reached you. Look beyond the means to the One who created them. This does not mean we abandon worldly means. We take the means, but our hearts remain attached to Allah. We thank people for their kindness, but recognize that Allah's favour preceded their kindness. We work, plan, and strive, but place our ultimate reliance upon the One who controls every outcome. This is what it means to worship Allah through His Name al-Awwal. To recognize His prior favour in every blessing, and to never allow our hearts to become dependent upon created things while forgetting their Creator.
