@mariposasoltera76: For seven years, his family wondered where he had gone. Then workers tore down an abandoned cabin and found him inside the chimney. Joshua Vernon Maddux was just 18 when he disappeared from Woodland Park, Colorado, on May 8, 2008. His disappearance left his family facing the terrible uncertainty that comes when someone vanishes without an explanation. Years passed without the answer they needed. Then, in August 2015, a demolition crew working on a nearby abandoned cabin made a heartbreaking discovery. Human remains were lodged inside its chimney. They belonged to Joshua. The teenager who had been missing for seven years had been found less than a mile from home. His remains were partially mummified, reportedly curled into a fetal position with his knees above his head. The discovery answered where he was, but raised another devastating question: how had he ended up there? Teller County Coroner Al Born ruled his death accidental. Investigators found no detectable signs of trauma, and Born believed Joshua might have climbed down the chimney, become trapped, and been unable to escape. But that explanation remained a theory. The precise medical cause of his death was undetermined, and nobody could establish exactly why he entered the chimney or what happened in his final hours. The cabin’s owner questioned the explanation, pointing to features of the building that he believed made it difficult to enter through the chimney. Those concerns added to the uncertainty, but did not establish that a crime had occurred. For Joshua’s family, the discovery meant they could finally bring him home and give him a burial. It could not give them back the years they had lost. Behind the unsettling headlines was a young man whose life mattered—and a family left with answers painful enough to end a search, but incomplete enough to leave questions. #fyp #trending #tiktok #viral #viralvideo
