I mean NGL, how many times has it happened where people struggling with infertility don't have other obvious external (technically internal I guess) health issues affecting it, but then they're stressing about the repeated negative tests etc and feeling broken (which is fully understandable), but then when they give up actively trying and decide to focus on other things and don't stress about that in particular even if they still very much want it, do they then get unexpectedly pregnant?! I can understand this is a very sensitive topic for some people, and as you've repeated it's only one part of the larger picture not the main piece. but even if it is the main piece, experiencing that stress doesn't make it the person's *fault* for not getting pregnant, they're not to blame for that, maybe the descriptor of feeling *safe* is what is throwing people off maybe? but even then, I get it and it's still an apt description - but stress absolutely impacts the body in various substantial ways and if TTC is the main stressor, it could also be what is impacting it too because of how stress and the related hormones etc do in fact influence ones ability to get pregnant. there's many factors that can impact it and that one particular factor is usually a small piece, it can also be the main factor once the other factors have been cleared/sorted, but it also still being a main factor doesn't make it anybodies fault, it's not a failure on the woman's part! it is something to also consider if there's no other real explanation, and that's not even to say stop TTC, but maybe being able to fill your own cup and take care of yourself and fulfill yourself outside of that want to be pregnant will in fact help because your stress will be much more manageable and therefore less cortisol
