@mollyburkeofficial: It's so fun seeing what accessibility looks like in different countries! 🇳🇱 I haven't taken an O&M lesson in the Netherlands, so I was just guessing how this works and I hope I'm right! Haha 🙈
Wait, in states the crosswalk doesn't beep??? I thought it was norm everywhere 😱

It never occured to me that the poles are black and white for such a reason

There's a museum in Nijmegen called muZIEum, where people are led through dark rooms with a blind tour guide to experience what its like to be blind. I've been there twice, it was very educational! They also had a room to mimic crossing the road.

I love that you say "see" for something you can only hear. I find that fascinating!

Sadly not all lights have the clicking, but when they do it really works great

Fun fact at the clickers in the lights: it's magnets. And when it's evening, they lower the power on the poles causing the lights to dim so they aren't as harsh on your eyes in the dark, but that also means the magnets are less strong and thus the clicking is softer as well.

fun fact: some those types of buttons have a special button at the bottom that will also vibrate until you can cross. In fact, all have the button, but not every place uses it.

also the clicking sound changes when the light is about to turn red as a warning. the clicks will have the pattern like a galloping horse.

Sometimes there isn’t a sound. There’s a button under it when you click it then it will make the sound.

That’s awesome as someone not visually impaired, but who cannot wear their glasses for some reason I like the beeping it helps, but it’s not that easy to identify as this one at least where I live

Something cool I noticed is that the beeping and the clicking changes volume depending on the environmental noise
