@samdracott_farrier: not going to lie, i’m STRESSED! and this is exactly why @Redwings Horse Sanctuary have been raising awareness through their #GoLow campaign, encouraging people to choose quieter fireworks
I’m getting ready to go down to my horses before long my nan has horses in two separate fields so I have to go to the one, I’m petrified they absolutely hate it 💔

My horse is on calming supplements and I’m going to stay with him all night and hopefully I won’t have to sedate because bless his heart he’s absolutely terrified of them 🥺

I find that it isn't the individual fireworks or the lights that are the problem, it's the finale at the end where it's constant mega loud bangs.

We have 7-8 firework displays and then private ones who don’t tell me I’m very lucky mine are now getting used to them but at the start my boy had slight colic and if not caught quick enough got worse. Cameras are amazing to keep an eye on them and calmer for the stomach

We’ve got one on the 8th next to our yard 😢 but we make sure we work Tony pony quite hard before so he’s tired! He seems to cope well with them though so luckily don’t have to do much else 🤞🏻

I always dread bonfire night😢people have no consideration for animals & livestock. The fact it’s not just one night either we have had random fireworks being set off this whole month randomly with no warning and it will most likely continue until new year like it has the last few years. I understand people want to have a good time but u don’t need loud explosions to do so!

I hate fireworks, tips to everyone: get chamomile leaves or chamomile teabags and pop it in feeds and a water buffet it’s a quick acting calmer :) stay safe everyone

Right I’ve got 6 horse all ages from 7-29. Tips from me, radio blast it, big molasses mineral lick blocks while fireworks are happening, lights on everywhere, lots of hay with carrots or apples inside. Everything is distracting distract distract. Works a treat for me. All of mine are in also. Good luck everyone ❤️❤️

The closeness of bonfire and fireworks to our stables and the state of my horse at 11pm … 4 hours after the display 😞 it’s just not ok in this day and age. We need to

I close the grill door so they can’t jump out and put a big lick and treat ball to try keep them entertained when horses lick that ware them selfs out

I love fireworks bonfire night is one of my favourite nights, but I do think there needs to be more regulations around them, the public shouldn't be allowed to buy them, they should only be allowed for organised events that have been authorised and correct notice and procedure have been followed

If I have the chance so not a horse that's came the last days before the fireworks I always train mine.
So when the fireworks starts they have already learned that the sound means treats.
I will never be the exact training since rarely use fireworks. If they are stalled I start playing fireworks sounds on speakers before every time I feed them. And bump up the volume more and more. When it's time I board the windows and blast fireworks sounds and give them feed.
Nowadays mined is outside 24/7 and they can jump at the first blast but then just eat the hay
