@dondon20040: Tragedy! Football fields need to be safe from violence 30-year-old Spanish forward Jesús de Miguel has passed away. Last night (Nov 2), during stoppage time in the Segunda División match between Tenerife and FC Andorra, forward Jesús de Miguel (30) had a terrible collision with the opposing goalkeeper, Jesús Owono. The keeper's knee hit him right in the chest, and he collapsed instantly. After emergency treatment on the field, he was rushed to the hospital, and the match had to be stopped. This morning (Nov 3), the club officially announced that Jesús de Miguel sadly passed away at 8 AM. A young man still chasing his dreams just left the pitch so suddenly. Rest in peace. Sending deepest condolences to his family, teammates, and all CD Tenerife fans. Rest in peace, Jesús. #footballviolence #football#spain #RIP #spanishsegundadivisión

I'm not defending him or anything, but if you watch football, you'll notice that many players deliberately go down to get the referee's attention, win free kicks or penalties, or get an opposing player booked or sent off. In his mind, he probably thought it was just another one of those tricks. It was only a few seconds later that he realised the situation was serious. That's why he ran back to check whether the opposing player was okay. However, he will have to live with the consequences of what happened. He will never be the same again, and I doubt he'll ever enjoy being on the football pitch the way he used to. Something like that can haunt a person for the rest of their life. 🕊May his soul rest peace😢🕊 my deepest condolences to families, friends, teammates and supporters 🕊✝️☪️✡️🕎🕊
