elevator broke off because the plane stall and didnt recover and overspeed so the plane started to destroy its surfaces

could the ICE on the wings have caused it to plung down and then gaining to much speed to the point that it ripped away as soon as the ice was gone and they tried to pull up at to high of speed. They then ran out of time
