I hit autistic burn out. my boss told me to unplug my computer and uninstall teams from my phone and leave for 9 days. the belief that they don't try to protect you feels inflated.

The other side if that coin is when others go on vacation, the expectation is that you do their job, to the detriment of you projects, while still be expected to get BOTH done..... I would love for someone to do some of my responsibilities when I actually find time to go on a vacation....

Nope, that’s a leader that hasn’t set their team up for success without you. You should be able to unplug with a well disciplined team that understands your expectations and has bought into them.

Been at my job for almost 18 years. Haven't taken a single vacation that whole time, other than a day or two here and there. The only "time off" I had was 5 weeks when my mother was dying from cancer. Wanted to take FMLA but they somehow convinced me to work part time and they would still count it as full time. I have over 4 months of PTO banked. It's fkn ridiculous that I, a single person, is so integral to a company that I don't even own. They pay me decently, but with inflation, I'm thinking I need more. The core function of the business would cease to function if I just stopped working, and my boss doesn't see a problem with that. But he was the guy who.voluntarily worked on his honeymoon bcuz he was bored. Can't wait to the day I retire and they panic.

I was training two new staff and one day I was sick (they were hired pretty close together and were probably under or just at 30 days). my boss saw me in the hall and says "what are you doing here? go home" I said something like "I can't newbies still need me." Her reply was basically "I'm here if they have questions. go home, rest, and feel better." it's the first place I've ever worked where I genuinely don't feel guilty for being sick or needing time off.

Every vacation and day off until I went on a cruise and did not purchase the wifi package. Disembarked, the messages started about two hours later.

So it is not just me that gets frustrated with the BKMs/Wiki/Guides are for show, and still ask me? What build do I use (front page of wiki), where can I find the build (front page), have you seen this before, is anyone looking at this issue (what issue that is marked P3 in a whole other database. I do not consider myself a high performer (too many areas to improve/grow in), but goodness when I come back from vacation it's like everything just froze pending my switching off OOO.

I wrote an FAQ document because I as getting the same questions every week and sometimes from the exact same people. No one used it except for me, I started answering questions with a reminder of the document and a screen print of the answer.
