🚨 $28,000 A MONTH IN FOSTER CARE PAYMENTS?! LET'S TALK ABOUT IT. In this clip from The Shawn Ryan Show, foster parent and actress Jen Lilley recounts a conversation with another foster parent who allegedly claimed she was receiving $28,000 a month and encouraged seeking placements with higher reimbursement rates. Let that sink in. I'm not against foster parents being compensated. Caring for children, especially those with complex medical or behavioral needs, can be incredibly demanding and expensive. But when the conversation shifts from what a child NEEDS to what a child PAYS, we have a serious problem. As a mother who has experienced the child-welfare system firsthand, I've spent years asking questions about accountability, family separation, funding, and why safe family placements aren't always prioritized. Children are not paychecks. Trauma is not a business model. And family separation should NEVER become financially desirable. We need transparency about where the money goes, how placement decisions are made, and whether families receive meaningful support before separation becomes permanent. FOLLOW THE MONEY. PROTECT THE CHILDREN. PRESERVE SAFE FAMILIES. 💜 Pain2Purpose — Turning Pain Into policy #FosterCareAwareness #ChildWelfareReform #FollowTheMoney #FamilyPreservation #Pain2Purpose
