@thedizzycook: 3 Minute Migraine Mocktail: Apple Ginger Spritz - wanted to create a non-alcoholic “Apple-Rol Spritz” that was festive enough for the holidays, but could also help for nausea and sick days. Best part is this takes 2-3 minutes to make! At @Danielle Foundation and @migraineatschool we love bringing you functional recipes that can comfort on migraine days, but also make life with chronic illness more fun. This one brings in slightly bitter citrus flavor, with apple cider, and ginger beer. Fresh ginger gives it a little kick, that is not only refreshing, but also soothing for migraine days. The combo of citrus with ginger is really nice for nausea! Save this recipe for Thanksgiving or just a fun fall mocktail! Apple Ginger Spritz Serves 1 * 5 slices fresh ginger root * 1 large navel orange (1 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice + slice the other half into 2-3 thin rounds) * 2 ounces fresh apple cider * 6-8 ounces ginger beer * Crushed ice * Garnish, large round slice of apple and star anise or ginger root In a tall wine glass, add 5 slices of ginger root and 2 slices of orange. Add in freshly squeezed orange juice, apple cider, and top with ginger beer. Stir with a cocktail mixer or long spoon to combine. Note - we know orange can be a trigger for some, so it can be left out of this mocktail, but it does provide more of an aperol-like flavor. Enjoy!
