@corrieehammond: after nearly a decade in bridal, i’ve seen how often foundational product knowledge is overlooked in favor of sales training. i want my team to understand why fabrics behave the way they do, how they influence fit and construction, and how to use that knowledge to better educate and guide their brides. learning about fibers, weaves, fabric construction, and how different materials perform completely changed the way i shop. not just for clothing, but bedding, towels, furniture, and pretty much anything involving fabric. one of my (least) favorite assignments, but MOST beneficial was building a textile encyclopedia, documenting different fabric swatches, their construction, characteristics, and uses. i’ve always kept one of my own for work but now, years later, i’m working on creating one for my own bridal shop, with the goal of incorporating textile education into every stylist’s training. because you can’t sell what you don’t understand. #TextileEducation #BridalEducation #FashionEducation #BridalStylist
