The first thing they told me at booking for jail was that if anything happened to me it would be counted as an ADDITIONAL CHARGE and subsequently placed on the sex offender registry. They thought I was a gay cis man. Worst 3 days of my life not drinking water, peeing at 3am and being followed around/ interrogated. I don’t care who you are trans men are targets in prison even if they’re stealth. And if they think youre gay you are HATED. I had to act insane to be left alone. It’s not a fuckin speed dating event, it’s traumatizing, there’s no safeguards. If I had stayed long enough to have to shower or be seen using the bathroom I would have had so many more problems. I feel bad for trans women too. Trump literally reduced the safeguards for SA in prisons to make it easier to hurt us. I don’t doubt trans women are abused for a minute. The same people will bother you for everything off your tray then call you a faggot if you say no. If you get abused they blame you for it and you have to stay longer. It’s such a scary environment to be around sexually frustrated men and egregiously violent men at the same time. Anyone perceived as feminine or female should honestly have a third designated space entirely. I have seen and heard too many things to forget about, men in prison are scary because they always do things in groups. I can defend myself but not against 3 people at once. Not if they have a melted toothbrush, or fucked up razor. My first night in jail I saw someone casually sharpening a shank bc someone stole his fucking earbuds. Trans men in prison are subject to misogyny in ways trans women will never understand. Why are people so comfortable ignoring the commonality of oppression and insist it doesn’t exist?

do they genuinely think trans men dont get sexually assaulted in prisons? thats actually scary imo. I also feel like they don't actually care about v-coding. they don't care about trans ladies who have been victim of it. they just want to weaponise the trauma of other trans women to shut down trans men talking about their own trauma

Just insane. I’m so careful about not breaking the law because I know the chances I’d be r*ped crazy style if I was taken into custody is terrifyingly high. It would ruin my life.

I'm so fucking tired of this community I'm sorry. Trans women keep talking shit about every other group of trans people and the community still shows up for them. One singular trans dude can say/do ONE thing and suddenly its "facts" and all trans men are to blame. When the fuck will it stop.
