@kakamu_judo_basic: I taught the essential conditions that must be in place before attempting a judo technique. Understanding the posture, distance, and movement required before applying a technique—and knowing why they matter—helps athletes use techniques effectively in practice. I was pleased to see that everyone seemed to understand the importance of these fundamentals. Every athlete faces different challenges. Identifying each athlete’s needs, setting the right priorities, and providing guidance that supports their development are all essential. I have come to see that this ability to assess and guide each athlete is a vital part of coaching. I have identified challenges shared across Saudi judo. As someone responsible for long-term development, I will continue to examine how we can address them and build a stronger future for the sport. I’m very pleased that coaches in Saudi Arabia have found my approach to making fundamental techniques practical, and the reasons behind it, helpful.
