According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 4:21 a.m. to the area of Rubidoux Boulevard and 34th Street. When deputies arrived, they found the pedestrian in the roadway and provided aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities say alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
