redrawing districts is a ridiculous thing. District size and shape should be mandated by legal algorithm based on population and geography and not subject to choices by those currently in power.

whats more interesting about the term "gerrymander" was initially the term came to be from a political cartoon talking about a district redrawn by a politician with the last name "gerry" and the fact his redrawn district was so absurd and obviously partisan. the "mander" part of the name comes from "salamander " as it was joked that the district resembled a salamander and thus "gerry" and "salamander " were put together to be "gerrymander" and that is what the district was called. later the term became synonymous with redrawing districts to try ro gain an advantage in elections. so now the term "dummymander" is a combination of an already combined word
