I think you should keep Kai permanently... your Mum spends a lot of time away and your three will accept Kai better if he doesn't come and go all the time. Kai will also benefit from less turmoil. It's like your cats go through this every time he stays, they finally settle and just then he goes home again [Teary eyed]
