The mysterious and attractive beauty of the forbidden wisdom found in the woman… The “true lady” whose fruit is found in the “adult tree”…. She is the eternal woman of scripture described as the woman taken. Can you find out who she is? Can you take her!? The woman taken in adultery. And of course, I am not talking about physical adultery. I’m talking about finding new wisdom going against our old ways of thinking!

It was during the Joseon period when they implemented neoconfucianism which eroded a lot of gender balance that existed prior. For example, daughters could inherit property during the Koryo period. But the way things always change in a sense that later, gisaeng became a whole information network that was different from other networks of information like villages, farmers merchants and beggars. Gisaeng had avenues to power that just wasn’t available to any other classes. Commoners and nobles alike. All for a song and a dance, all for just a bit of company. I guess the question is: what are you willing to sell to feel understood? Boy, what a question! I’ll have to sit on this for a minute. 👋
