Too many people very much overestimate the impact AI is having on the legal field. Roughly 10% of my revenue as an attorney is reviewing and redlining contracts drafted by AI. It’s terrible at drafting court documents and the quality varies a lot for contracts. It helps me with research. That’s the main area where it’s effective in my experience.

I graduated 2010 when employment was at an all time low… but I made it a point during school to focus on healthcare regulatory law. I graduated with a job and have been employed ever since. I was not at the top of my class but I carved a niche for myself! Every job I have had I have been recruited and make just over 500k in-house with no nights or weekends!

AI cannot do the job of a lawyer even the basic parts! This is extremely unethical! We just used AI for legal research and it made up a case to support the reasoning. AI in law is a myth of a myth

I'm a 2L at a prestigious school. she's right to a point when it comes to big law but our job board is full of ppl who want spring externs and summer paid interns and even people who are hiring for 2028. if its in your heart go to law school.

I’m a tax lawyer and it’s been a wonderful career. You don’t have to go into big law. I started in public accounting and now I work for a corporation. I love solving problems and helping people. I’d still recommend the profession.

Been practicing for 18 years and I had to also learn that our service is largely a luxury: people and companies need to be able to afford the retainer and hourly rate. And in questionable economies, law practices definitely suffer a bit.

This is horrible advice. AI can increase efficiency but the lawyer still provides strategy, even for first year associates.

I’m in Am100 law and there is SO much work and demand for new lawyers. But you have got to be a very hard worker. Now AI is involved and you are competing with it as a young lawyer. But once you are experienced you’re good.
