@azulthevoice2: DOCUMENTING — IT'S ABOUT PURPOSE. Being a legal observer is not always easy. Too often, those who show up to document, observe, and help protect transparency find themselves facing uncomfortable, intimidating, and sometimes hostile situations. This is one of the reasons members of our community may feel intimidated when exercising their rights and simply trying to observe what is happening around them. In this video, we see a sheriff addressing a legal observer and telling her to leave the parking lot if she has no business there. The manner and tone of that interaction raise concerns about the importance of professionalism, respect, and accountability in every encounter between law enforcement and members of the public. Documenting should never be treated as intimidation. Asking questions should never be treated as a threat. Transparency matters. We will continue documenting what we witness and sharing it with the community. Because accountability begins with visibility.
