@ksbw_8: Salinas police arrested the parents of an 18-year-old wanted in connection with an Oct. 18 shooting that left a victim with serious gunshot wounds, the department said Wednesday. Detectives identified Ivan Anaya Melgoza as the suspect in the shooting in the 600 block of Fremont Street at 11 p.m. Previously, Salinas police said that Melgoza is considered armed and dangerous. Police said they found evidence that his parents, Ana Anaya, 51, and Juan Anaya, 48, substantially assisted him after the shooting. Both parents were arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of being accessories to attempted murder and conspiracy, police said. The search for Ivan Anaya Melgoza is ongoing. Police said he is wanted for attempted murder and gang-related offenses and may be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Miller at 831-758-7954 or leave an anonymous tip at 831-775-4222.

It’s a shame that because people like this, it gives more people a motive to be racist against innocent Hispanics/immigrants…it’s like if a white kid did a school shooting and if the comments started talking down on the fact it was a white person rather than the crime at hand.
