@addisyter1: 🚨🚨 SCAM ALERT | PUBLIC WARNING 🚨🚨 A fake social-media account is allegedly impersonating Thomas Frimpong, the father of the late Jarvis Frimpong, while using Jarvis’s videos and identity to solicit money from members of the public. We have received multiple complaints from people who say they were contacted through DMs and asked to make contributions toward Jarvis Frimpong’s funeral. Sadly, two individuals reportedly sent money before discovering that they had been scammed. ⚠️ PLEASE BE WARNED: Do not send money to anyone claiming to be Thomas Frimpong or “Jarvis Frimpong’s father” through an unverified social-media account. The reported payment methods include MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone/Telecel Mobile Money, Venmo, Cash App and PayPal. Evidence and transaction information are being gathered to help determine who is behind the account. 🚨 WE ARE WORKING WITH THE GHANA POLICE SERVICE TO HELP IDENTIFY AND ENSURE THAT THE PERSON BEHIND THIS IMPERSONATION AND ALLEGED SCAM IS BROUGHT TO JUSTICE. If you have been contacted by this account or sent money, keep all screenshots, messages, account details and transaction records and report them to the appropriate authorities. 🛑 DON’T SEND MONEY. DON’T FALL FOR THE SCAM. SHARE THIS WARNING. We are currently working to find out who is behind the account and will cooperate with the Ghana Police Service to ensure the matter is properly investigated and the person responsible is arrested.
