@helloookimmyyy: Shout out to all of us survivors that were psychologically tortured, stalked, harassed and had smear campaigns run on us #domesticabuseawareness #narcissisticabuse #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #fypシ #domesticviolenceawareness
I was with the man for 2 years. I genuinely had to relearn how to hold eye contact and have a conversation with people. I felt like an empty shell of who I was. I was so lost and just empty and drained. I fought to gain myself back.

I have nothing and no one. I am 100 % alone in this world. How will I do this alone? The abuse was pure demonic by the end.

Well I’m here to be the light. I got out in June and have been on my own since. I have never been happier than I am alone. I still have urges to text him or reach out but he’s not worth it and he will never change. I don’t think about him much anymore. I’m more weary of other men and my standards are much higher. Say one thing I don’t like or do one thing wrong and you’re not worth my time anymore and I don’t care 🤷🏻♀️I love my life right now and you will too❤️

After 4 1/2 years I’m still recovering. However my shoulders started loosening up after one year. Narcissism should be a crime.

Healing from this kind of abuse is like grief. You have to grow bigger than the pain to absorb and triumph over it. Reconnecting with parts of yourself they tried to get rid of and embracing becoming somebody new, someone you might have never saw yourself becoming is crucial. In some ways people think I’m worse because I’m more selfish, direct, and quicker to defend myself but at the end of the day it brings me more peace and joy than any narcissistic relationship ever did.

5 years with therapy. I’m not 100% obviously but I’m not having a mental breakdown left and right like I use to

I don't think you do recover, you just burry it and keep moving forward, day by day ✌️

Healing is life long. It’s just a matter of beginning the journey. Which is when you thank the version of yourself that was strong enough to keep you safe enough to arrive to this moment.

like 2 years, my best advice is to erase as much of them as you can from your existence and move forward and eventually it'll be like it never happened. AND everytime a memory resurfaces hug yourself and remind yourself that you're no longer there and life goes on. Gratitude will take you far in narcissistic recovery <3

There is no timeline for recovery. Some days are fine, and some are heavy. Some old triggers have faded out of existence, and some appear for the first time. Take it one day at a time. If that is too much, take it an hour at a time, or a minute, or a second.

I’m 4 months in. I’m slowly unlearning everything he did to me. I have made maybe 3% progress.
