I’ve been betrayed many times in my life. It was a lesson I needed to learn apparently, as it started when I was around 8. In retrospect, I learned a couple of things: 1. the betrayer is often a deeply unhappy person and picks on someone to make themselves feel better 2. they are often envious and/or jealous of those they betray, so the betrayer is “paying back” the victim for imagined slights.
