@newcreationsnc: In Raleigh, Army captain Michael Kranzburg, a former NC State student, is held without bond, charged in two 2019 sexual assaults on NC State's campus. CONFIRMED: Michael Adam Kranzburg, 27, an active-duty U.S. Army captain stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, was arrested by NC State police and appeared in Wake County court Wednesday, Nov. 4, where a judge ordered him held without bond. The Wake County District Attorney's Office did not pursue charges after a December 2019 report, then revisited the case after a second woman came forward in October 2026, as reported by WRAL, ABC11 and CBS 17. POLICE SAY / ALLEGED: Prosecutors say Kranzburg sexually assaulted two women in separate incidents on NC State's campus in February and December 2019, while all three were students. He is charged with first-degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, second-degree forcible sex offense and sexual battery. Charges are accusations, not convictions. STILL UNKNOWN: His next court date has not been released; his attorney and parents declined to comment. The DA says the case is not connected to the current Sigma Nu hazing investigation.
