I’m an IEP kid and honestly it’s hard being an adult. People will joke and say shit I don’t understand so I ask questions and I get the “ how did you not get it” It’s definitely affected my relationships with people and the way I comprehend things.

Federal laws regarding IEP’s have been updated. It’s basically illegal to keep kids in these classes if they don’t need them now! I’m sorry this happened to you though. As a high school teacher, I always have so much guilt for the good kids that get stuck in the behavioral classes.

As an RSP teacher myself… I call my students on the school phone and ask if I can pull them out to catch up on work. Bc I know that they get embarrassed and it breaks my heart
