if I have car trouble and can’t take mine for a couple of days, I’m told to sign them up for a bus or face having their unexcused absent reported so what do they expect parents to do?

Some suggestions: add another adult on the bus because nobody wants to drive a bus AND be responsible for the craziness in the back. Seat belts for safety and to keep students in their seats. And, maybe talk to the drivers and ask what would entice others to drive.

There’s no bus driver shortage… they let the bus drivers go because they don’t have the funds to pay for thousands of dollars in diesel fuel.

people really need to look at the entire picture would you want to be responsible for kids lives for low pay and some or most kids have diacplinary or health issues. It's sad all around but that's a big responsibility to take on for lower pay .My sister live up north as a school bus driver and she would never move here due to the pay of bus drivers.

I applied to drive the bus and they ain’t call back I ain’t got my cdl but I’m willing to get it I wanna work for the school so I can be closer to my kids fr but I know I need them work with my full time job

everyone saying they need to get paid more, yes, but, we have no money to even pay our teachers or print papers. we couldn't even get our report cards in paper and had to look online. every school in Gaston county has no money or funding.

My kids were told that the busses were running 45 minutes late and then it never even showed up. Then later that day we got the message that the bus would not be running the rest of the week and that we needed to find other transportation

thinking about it I dont have my cdl but drove fire trucks for thirty years back in P a many firefighters up there drove buses at part time but the BCIU who ran the bus service actually trained yiu and got you a cdl especailly tbat im retired now
