@riversidelandmarktrading: 🇺🇸 DID YOU KNOW RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ONCE HAD A MASSIVE WORLD WAR II MILITARY BASE?! 😱🪖 Before Riverside’s Arlanza neighborhood became the residential community we know today, it was home to Camp Anza, a major U.S. Army military installation during World War II! 🇺🇸 Established in 1942, Camp Anza covered approximately 1,240 acres and served as an important staging area for American troops preparing to deploy overseas. 🤯 Here’s what makes this piece of Riverside history incredible: 🏕️ More than 625,000 military personnel passed through Camp Anza during its operation! 🪖 The installation could accommodate more than 20,000 soldiers at a time! 🎬 The camp featured recreational facilities and entertainment for troops preparing for deployment. 🏠 After the base closed in 1946, some of its military barracks were converted into residential homes, helping shape what would become the Arlanza neighborhood. And believe it or not, some original military structures still survive in Riverside today! 🤯 Next time you’re driving through Arlanza, remember that the neighborhood you’re passing through once played an important role in America’s World War II history. 👇 RIVERSIDE LOCALS! Did you know Camp Anza existed? Does anyone have family members who served there or remember stories about the old military base? That’s the one I mentioned in of your earlier posts. It’s currently homes for veterans. The ballroom has a lot pics of the history of the building. I did work with them last year. Nice job!
