My ER was going to shut down 16 beds between Peds and adults next week and thankfully decided to keep it open because Flu is so early this year. It delays a major project 6 months, but it’s so necessary. It would have been a miserable season

Our hosp is also under renos, 14hrs I waited to be seen for pneumonia which I normally wouldnt go in for but 2wks prior I was Septic after kidney stones so it was added precaution. I regretted going.

We’re also going to be starting construction at our hospital in a few months due to all the seismic safety laws. We’re already seeing over 300 patients a day in the ER and holding over 20 patients… wait times are nuts! It’s so stressful

I was literally thinking - why would you remodel a whole wing during the start of cold/flu season and it's actually hitting so early. Like - the person who organized that should be fired or deal with the people in triage that are so mad!
