One day I got curious so I “took my lunch” and followed him outside. He was feeding the geese all the bread he had collected from the meals. He doesn’t do that anymore, he doesn’t even eat out in the dining room anymore, but it was one of his favorite things to do

I had this one patient collect the cookies from snack time and feed the squirrels. We didn’t mind until one day she let a squirrel in🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️… the shit show it cause🤣🤣 she wasn’t allowed the feed the squirrels anymore😭

My grandpa had one of his dresser drawers filled with napkins from all over the place. I’m taking restaurants, doctors appointments, buffets that we went too. And he would in fact know if some were missing

I'm highschool I had a teacher who had a grandpa in the nursing home I worked at and we'd talk about him and he told me once it twice a month grandpa calls him "there's gonna be a shake down, you have to come tonight" and he'd go over, grandpa would wheel himself out, hand him bags on bags of snacks and toys and studies he won at bingo, and the next day my teacher would donate them back so he could win them again

I Had A Resident That Would Collect All The Plastic Silverware And Trash He Would Dig In Trash Cans And Collect Cans And Have It Stacked Up Against His Wall Hundreds Of Cups And Silverware Anytime We Would Try To Clean He Would Get Very Mad We Had To Trick Him Into Showering Which He Had Went Months Without we Took Trash Barrels And Emptied His Room Once He Found Out He Wouldnt Talk To Anyone And Would Refuse His Meds Smh

Reminds me of a joke. An older man was tending to his garden. Another older gentleman stops by to visit him and sees a weed that was missed. The first man says "Don't pick that!" "Why not?" Says the visiting man. The first man replies "Because. Then I won't have nothing to do tomorrow." A reminder that we'll still have our funny times when we get older. ☺️
