He’s afraid of loosing them to another god and it means there’s another god that he’s jealous of. As it’s in the Bible, come let us make mankind in OUR own image, it means the creators were not one so why demanding worship for you alone whiles you didn’t create the people alone. Jealousy refers not wanting to lose what you have. Envious means wanting what another has. Him being jealous means he doesn’t wanna lose us; he desires to reclaim what’s his, which is everyone. When scripture says he’s “provoked to jealousy” it refers to when his ppl leave him another god so he leaves them another group of ppl, specifically with the intention of inciting them to come back bc of what they’re missing out on (him)

Since no one has around and that passage was rewritten about 50 times there is no way to know its true meaning. However, taken at face value it could be two sides of the same coin. Jealousy doesnt have to come from another but could also be attached to anger from something like envy or not being listened to. Such as following the word of someone else above whatever this being. Like worshipping false idols. You would think bejng above all else why would an idol piss one off? Thats just it, its a control aspect. Jealousy of contradiction or not having 100% control. Doesnt have to be other gods but since that diety was created via man its safe to say any other dietys created by man would also make this tribal being jealous.

Jealousy has nothing to do with another person or being. If your wife or husband refuses to spend time with you, and you've been trying for a year and a half to have a simple dinner date. And they're too busy hanging out with on their phone that can create jealousy
