@teresondupuy: Was the love real? Yes. And the fear was real too. That is the part people do not always understand. Someone can love you and still be terrified of intimacy. They can feel deeply and still run. They can want closeness and still sabotage it. They can care about you and still not have the emotional capacity to hold the relationship. Love does not automatically heal fear. Love does not automatically create courage. Love does not automatically make someone secure. So maybe you do not have to keep asking whether the connection was fake. Maybe both things were true. The love was real. And so was the fear that destroyed it. That does not mean you wait forever.
