In their thirst to build out as many data centers as possible, the construction company attached to Google took out over 800 acres of trees to get the land ready for the AI think box. Initially, the government just yelled at them to stop building, but now it’s escalated to a criminal investigation. Finnish police are going after the companies for violation of environmental law and other criminal offenses. The Prime Minister was in favor of the data center build out when it was initially proposed, but hasn’t commented on the fact that wolves are now roaming Finnish towns thanks to the loss of their habitat.
