@leokatiecbt: Holding on to things is something most people do. With this kind of OCD, the pull to keep an object doesn't come from liking it or wanting it. It comes from a fear that letting it go could cause something terrible, even when part of you knows that fear doesn't make sense. That's why the stuff can feel more like a burden than a comfort. Checking the trash, keeping one more piece of paper, or putting off throwing something away can bring a moment of relief, but the doubt usually comes back asking for more. If this sounds familiar, you're not messy or irrational, and you don't have to sort through it alone. OCD is very treatable, and a therapist who understands it can help you let go at a pace that feels doable. #ocd #hoardingocd #ocdawareness #intrusivethoughts #ocdrecovery
