@tk168345y8i: Salad and Go is closing all 70 of its Arizona and Nevada locations today, and Dutch Bros is already stepping in to take over the buildings. According to court documents, the Tempe based salad chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week after struggling with rising costs and falling sales. A cyclospora outbreak this summer also hurt consumer confidence across the restaurant industry, even though Salad and Go was never tied to any cases. Dutch Bros, also headquartered in Tempe, agreed to buy the leases and equipment at those same 70 locations for $105 million. Since the buildings are already drive thru only, Dutch Bros plans to convert many of them into new coffee shops over the next year, adding to its already massive footprint of more than 1,000 shops nationwide. Is this a smooth transition that saves these buildings from sitting empty, or does it show how fast a well known local brand can disappear? Let me know what you think. Little behind. Some of the locations Dutch Bros bought cant be turned into dutch bros because of current lease holders contracts with land owners prohibit competition from building there. Also, Salad and Go is not gone. The original owners are opening 2 new locations under original management.
