@ggi_kenya: Beyond constructing semicircular bunds, we are creating the conditions for life to return. The bunds slow down and capture rainwater, allowing it to soak into the soil instead of running off. We then plant grass and trees around these water harvesting structures, giving them the moisture they need to establish and grow. Over time, these interventions can transform the landscape: bringing back vegetation, improving soil health, restoring ecosystems and strengthening livelihoods. This is how we regreen drylands. One bund, one tree, one blade of grass at a time. Through the Green Generation Initiative (GGI) @ggi_kenya , this work is being implemented through the Jumuiya Water Fund, in partnership with The Nature Conservancy in Africa, @nature_africa to restore landscapes, strengthen water security and build resilient communities.@Elizabeth Wathuti, O.G.W 🇰🇪
