Same thing happened to me in 2021. I slept and forgot to lock my door. My smartphones including laptop got stolen, worst of all about Ghc1,300 on MTN MOMO got redrawn. Reported to police and MTN office but the MTN officer put the blame on me that it could be someone close to me; mind you am a tech guy too and I don’t use shallow PIN codes. Fast forward the police arrested the perpetrator with the help of CCTV Cam from the Momo vendor where the money was redrawn. I informed MTN thinking they would follow up for us to ascertain how the person cracked the pin but they did not follow up. Since then, I don’t save or leave cash in my wallet.

A standard phone theft should not easily result in a drained wallet; this points directly to service provider vulnerabilities, such as former employees retaining system access.

Telecel is the problem, they have been covering the fraudsters, they take money from MTN to Telecel when a request is sent to them, they delay in responding, all the Ponzi schemes use Telecel Cash to receive to fraudulent funds because they know MTN will block their account for suspected fraud, just investigate by asking those fell victim to the recent Ponzi scheme that took people's funds away
