@xanthehappyday: 🥪🇺🇸 THE MOST AMERICAN SANDWICH IN THE WORLD: CRISPY, JUICY, AND READY IN 15 MINUTES! 🥓🍅🥬 🥪🇺🇸 THE MOST AMERICAN SANDWICH IN THE WORLD: CRISPY, JUICY, AND READY IN 15 MINUTES! 🥓🍅🥬 Ingredients: 🥓 8 slices of bacon (preferably smoked) 🍞 4 slices of sandwich bread, sourdough, or brioche 🍅 2 ripe tomatoes, cut into thick slices 🥬 Iceberg lettuce leaves, nice and crunchy 🥑 1 ripe avocado (optional, but it makes all the difference) 🧈 Good-quality mayonnaise or room-temperature butter 🧂 Salt, freshly ground black pepper, and a touch of smoked paprika 🔥 Love for American simplicity 👨‍🍳 How to make it: Place the bacon slices in a cold pan and set over medium heat. Fry until golden and extremely crispy — that’s the secret to this sandwich. Remove and drain on paper towels. Meanwhile, slice the tomatoes, season with salt, black pepper, and a light touch of smoked paprika. Mash the avocado with a fork and season with a pinch of salt and a squeeze of lemon, if you like. Lightly toast the bread slices on a griddle, in a pan, or in a toaster until golden on the outside and soft on the inside. Spread a generous layer of mayonnaise (or butter) on each slice. Assemble the sandwich in this order: bread, mayonnaise, crunchy lettuce, seasoned tomato slices, mashed avocado, extra-crispy bacon (broken in half so it doesn’t slip), and finish with the other slice of bread. Press gently and slice on the diagonal — diagonal cuts are a must in the United States! Serve immediately, preferably with a pickle on the side and a glass of ice-cold lemonade. It’s the perfect bite: the crunch of the bacon and lettuce, the creaminess of the avocado, the sweetness of the tomato, and the toasted bread wrapping it all up. Simple, rich in textures, and absolutely addictive. 😋🥪🔥
