@jbmentang: Eminem authorized the use of his 2010 song “Not Afraid” in Michigan Democratic US Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed’s final election-day get-out-the-vote video. The video urged Michigan voters to cast their ballots and used the message, “Michigan. It’s time. It’s up to us to show the country what’s possible. The world is watching.” El-Sayed’s campaign also framed the ad around the phrase “doing this for MI.” El-Sayed won the Michigan Senate race against former Congressman Mike Rogers. The music approval came weeks after Eminem collaborated with fellow Michigan musician Kid Rock on “Heal My Faith”; Kid Rock has been a vocal critic of El-Sayed and compared him to the 9/11 hijackers.
