@meishochildbomber: Despite being a strong racehorse, being able to not lose a single race during 2000, T.M. Opera O had garnered himself a significant number of people who hated him, believing that he made horse racing at that time too predictable and boring whenever he is part of the race. Some also thought that T.M. Opera O was an ugly horse to the point that whenever he makes public appearances, they would throw rocks at him. The hatred towards him was so severe that after his retirement, outsider visits for him were banned until his death due to someone breaking into his stable and cutting off a lock of his hair. Ryuji Wada once lamented that despite T.M. Opera O being strong, his popularity wasn't high at all. And that people, even as a joke, kept saying that T.M. Opera O is a horse that will win even when paired with a nobody jockey. In the 2000 Arima Kinen, T.M. Opera O's final acceleration spurt was blocked by other horses in a U-shaped formation. However, T.M. Opera O managed to break through an opening at the last stretch and won the race, ending his year with no defeats. #tmoperao #umamusume #uma #umamusumeprettyderby #edit

Brian would maul T.M Opera O head to head lmao 😭💔

Spirited-Ad-3 :

TM Opera O has excellent genetics and an absolutely stacked bloodline. The problem is that his Bloodline wasn't good in Japanese turf and dirt. The Sadler's Wells family is ridiculously successful, especially when you consider horses like Frankel(The Strongest), Galileo, Montjeu, High Chaparral, Treve, El Prado, and TM Opera O's own sire,Opera House. It's the most influential and successful bloodlines in 21st century horse racing worldwide. The genetics were never the problem. It was more about how those genetics apply to Japanese tracks Turf and Dirt(which mode of the time doesn't mix well).

SilliestMeow2.0 :

idk why you say "talent > genetics" Don't get me wrong Opera O came from a underestimated bloodline, but his success IS because of his genetics.
