@fatimaa_shahhh: Abdul El-Sayed is an American physician, epidemiologist, author, and politician who previously served as Detroit's Health Director and became known for his work in public health and progressive politics. On November 3, 2026, he made history by defeating Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan's U.S.Senate election, becoming the first Muslim ever elected to the U.S.Senate. During the campaign, Donald Trump suggested that El-Sayed should have to pass through metal detectors before entering the Senate. Abdul responded by challenging Trump to take a lie detector test in return. Now, after winning the very Senate seat Trump was talking about, his earlier response has taken on a whole new meaning. Sometimes, the best response is simply letting the results speak for themselves. #trump #abdulelsayed #election
