One of the fun things about being diagnosed with ADHD later in life is that you release all the fun little quirks you’ve been doing. Like masking in social situations or feeling guilty for absolutely nothing. These are just a few of my faves I still do every day… I’ll put off a really easy admin task for weeks but stress about it every day until it’s completely 🫪 If I have an appointment later in the day there is no way I can do anything else that day, I need to be poised and at the ready for anything After any social situation (especially with people I don’t know) I’ll absolutely bring replaying and overthinking everything I said or did and convince myself I did something wrong 😑 I never miss deadlines but instead I just leave everything until the very last min then hyper focus to get it done. It’s great 🥴 I have to set reminders on multiple devices otherwise I will just keep snoozing them on my phone I won’t watch a thing the whole way through without pausing several times to google something (Thom loves this one), sometimes a 45 min podcast can take me a whole day to watch I like to rehearse what I’m going to say beforehand when going to appointments or somewhere unfamiliar I like to be early because running late gives me more anxiety 🤯 Visual mess makes me overwhelmed, instead I just hide all that stuff behind closed door or in drawers for future me to deal with. So far that system works 👀 I have to listen to rain sounds all night - if I hear any small noise I will focus on that and can’t switch off When I need to properly focus, all background noise has to go off otherwise I basically can’t see #adhd
