When we try out a tool with #adhd the goal is usually consistency of some kind; consistency of routine, consistency of follow through. It’s exciting when a new tool seems to work, but there’s usually a drop off with ADHD where it stops working after a few weeks or months, which can be really frustrating! This is because it’s not about some magic tool… It’s usually actually about the novelty of just having a new tool. When the novelty leaves the building, so does the efficacy of that tool. It’s important to remember that there’s no inherent value to just sticking to one tool for the sake of sticking to it… If switching tools helps you to stay consistent with the routine or habit or behaviour that you’re trying to do, then switching it up and letting novelty lead the way is working! #consistency #routine #adhdtok #adhdtiktok
