Yes, it has a lightening agent in it. Keep in mind, If you already have permanent dye in your hair even if it’s faded, it won’t lighten that. Another thing to keep in mind is that the tubes are smaller than most other brands so you may need to buy more boxes if you have longer/ thicker hair
