I don’t wanna say it’s a smartphone replacement - that’s a different thing . But know I can surely say it’s useful. You can basically download any os you want , any Linux distro and almost any windows ( 7 might be the oldest ) + android/steam os/chrome os/TEMPLEOS. And it’s really tiny for a x86 device.
