38 hours of labor & 30 minutes of pushing. The hours were long and there were times that I lost hope. But I had the most amazing people right there next to me. Speaking scripture over me and encouraging me every second of the way. I got induced on Sunday night at 7:15pm. We did 2 rounds of cytotec & 1 round of Pitocin before the epidural. But there was no progression of dilation and his heart rate was spiking from the Pitocin. So at hour 26, I got an epidural and it was the best decision I could have made. His heart was reacting to my stress and exhaustion, but after getting the epidural, my body was able to calm down and his heart was able to handle the Pitocin. We went from 1.5cm dilated to 5cm dilated to him crowning for about 1 1/2 hours and us not even knowing it 😂 (I just felt a lot of pressure in my hoohaa during contractions). When the doctor came to check on us around 10:45am, she said it was time to push! 30 minutes later, I had him in my arms. I am not here to sugarcoat things. My labor was long, intense, and painful. But my delivery was the most spiritual and amazing thing I’ve ever experienced in my whole entire life. I was able to feel him in my birth canal wiggling around. I was able to feel him coming into the world. God is so amazing. I am so thankful that I was able to give birth to the sweet baby boy. There were many things not featured in this video that didn’t get captured. I started having anxiety attacks coupled with nausea right before giving birth and every night we were in the postpartum recovery room. I was scared… I felt all the pressure of becoming a mom. I was anxious about sleep deprivation, breast-feeding, taking care of a whole human being, and questioning my identity. I know I’m not the only one who struggles with these thoughts and never want to share a video that doesn’t show the true story… so that’s why I am sharing it via caption. This experience was beautiful and a beast all at the same time. But I wouldn’t have changed it because it’s MY birth story. And every birth story is beautiful. #birthvlog #birthstory #firsttimemom #newbornbaby #newborn #newmom #babyboy
