@engineer_kasese: 🔴 BREAKING NEWS 🔴 FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono, 25, has finally broken his silence after the tragic collision that killed Tenerife striker Jesus De Miguel, 30. In a statement released by his club FC Andorra on Wednesday, November 5, 2026, Owono said he is going through hell. "These are the most difficult days of my life. I struggle to find the words, and I find it very hard to process what has happened. I feel immense pain over the loss of Jesus. I am thinking of him, his family, and all the people who loved him. I know there will be many questions to address, and I will face whatever comes with the utmost respect. But right now, honestly, I cannot think about anything other than Jesus and the pain we are experiencing. Rest in peace, Jesus." The tragedy happened on Monday during a La Liga 2 match between CD Tenerife vs FC Andorra. Seven minutes into stoppage time, Owono rushed out of his box near the halfway line to clear a long ball. He collided with De Miguel, striking him in the chest with his knee. De Miguel collapsed on the pitch. Medical staff treated him for over 5 minutes before he was taken to hospital by ambulance. He suffered a cardiac arrest on the way. Tenerife first said he was "stable despite severity" on Monday night, but early Tuesday morning his neurological condition worsened and he was pronounced dead at 30. The match was abandoned. Owono was shown a straight red card for the challenge. Owono was forced to deactivate his Instagram account on Tuesday after receiving massive abuse online, with some users calling him "murderer." Even another goalkeeper Michel Owono said he was receiving racist abuse because people confused him with Jesus Owono. His teammate Lautaro Spatz defended him on Tuesday evening, saying Owono is deeply affected. The Equatorial Guinea Football Federation — Owono has 47 caps for them — also issued a statement saying he is going through "profound sorrow and grief." Spanish National Police have opened a routine investigation into De Miguel's death for possible involuntary manslaughter, but sources say Owono is expected to face a lengthy football ban rather than criminal sanctions. The Spanish Football Federation postponed all games on Tuesday in honour of De Miguel. May Jesus De Miguel rest in peace. #ripjesusdemiguel #jesúsdemiguel #jesusowono #tenerifestrikerdies #engineerkasese
