She is the 2018 Olympic champion, the 2019 World champion, the 2018 European champion, the 2017–18 Grand Prix Final champion, and the 2018 Russian national champion. She also won a silver medal in the team event at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Zagitova was born in Izhevsk, Udmurtia, Russia, and began skating in 2008 at age six. She trained at the Sambo-70 club in Moscow under coach Eteri Tutberidze, alongside Sergei Dudakov and Daniil Gleikhengauz. She competed internationally at the junior level in the 2016–17 season, winning the Junior Grand Prix Final in Marseille and the World Junior Championships in Taipei. Zagitova's senior breakthrough came in the 2017–18 season. She won the Grand Prix Final in Nagoya and the European Championships in Moscow, then claimed the Olympic gold medal in the ladies' event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, defeating Evgenia Medvedeva. At fifteen, she became one of the youngest Olympic champions in the discipline. She also won the 2018 Russian national title in Saint Petersburg. In the 2018–19 season, Zagitova won the World Championship in Saitama, Japan. She became the youngest skater to complete the career Super Slam, holding all major titles in both junior and senior competition. She also took silver at the 2019 European Championships in Minsk and at the 2018–19 Grand Prix Final in Vancouver. On 13 December 2019, after the Grand Prix Final, Zagitova announced a hiatus from competitive skating, citing a perceived lack of motivation. She has not returned to competition and is now considered a former competitive skater, with her career spanning 2015 to 2020. Zagitova's legacy is defined by her historic Olympic victory and her standing as the first Russian single skater to hold all significant titles in the sport. She remains one of the most decorated Russian figure skaters of her generation, and her influence on the technical evolution of women's skating is widely acknowledged. #alinazagitova #alexandratrusova #annashcherbakova #figureskating #dancechallenge - @subwaysurfer7624
