Doing more exercise doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll lose more weight (or body fat). Now. This is not to say that exercise is pointless if you’re not losing weight - of course. Rather, I’m simply addressing the common misconception that physical activity in and of itself will guarantee weight/fat loss in everyone. Some of you may find that past a certain point of exercise, you feel more fatigued, your appetite goes up, and overall feel worse off - this is definitely the case for me. Others may find that it’s more dependent on the intensity of effort or even the type of exercise you’re doing. And there are still others who actually find that various types of exercise energize them and they experience a blunting of appetite and thus eat less overall, ultimately seeing a meaningful drop in weight/body fat. Let me remind you that energy balance is dynamic, and there are undoubtedly other mechanisms at play that influence how your body weight changes over time in response to increased exercise. In this case, we are looking primarily at the impact of exercise on food intake. (And we should also consider the fact that exercise can further motivate individuals to alter their eating behaviors to eat less independent of appetite, while others may do the opposite.) Regardless, it’s important to be mindful of the duration, intensity, and modality of exercise that helps YOU feel your best - because that’s going to vary from one person to the next. #Exercise #WeightLoss #FatLoss
