Oliver Tree Nickell (June 29, 1993 — June 14, 2026) was an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer, music video director, and comedian. He became a prominent figure at the intersection of alternative rock, indie pop, hip‑hop, and electronic music. What he is remembered for Viral hit. In 2016, the song “When I’m Down” (recorded together with producer Whethan) went viral on the internet. This led to signing a contract with the major label Atlantic Records in 2017. Recognizable image. His signature look included a bowl cut, a bright plaid windbreaker, oversized sunglasses, and a scooter. In his music videos and promotional materials, he used absurdist humour, deliberately ridiculous costumes, and often incorporated stunt work and tricks — for example, riding a scooter. Characters. Oliver enjoyed creating alter egos for various projects. One of the most famous is Turbo. This character was a deliberately brash, spoiled persona styled as an overgrown teenager from the 90s: he did extreme sports, performed stunts, and got involved in adventurous situations. Later, other characters appeared, such as Cornelius Cummings. Music and creativity. He wrote his own lyrics, produced tracks, and directed music videos. Among his hits are “Life Goes On,” “Miss You,” and “Hurt.” He released several studio albums: *Ugly Is Beautiful* (2020), *Cowboy Tears* (2022), and *Alone in a Crowd* (2023). His fourth album, *Love You Madly Hate You Badly*, was released posthumously in 2026. Interesting fact. In 2020, Oliver entered the Guinness World Records: he built and rode the world’s tallest scooter (4.16 metres high and 3.13 metres long). It took 27 months to develop the design. Tragic ending On June 14, 2026, Oliver Tree died in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro. During the tour supporting the album *Love You Madly Hate You Badly*, two helicopters collided in mid‑air. Argentine blogger Gaspar Prim (Gaspí), director Lucas Vinhale, and music producer Lucas Brito Chavish were on board with him. All of them died. The musician was 32 years old. Legacy The artist’s family established a foundation in his honour: Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Art Grant for Baby Geniuses. The idea belonged to the musician himself and was documented in his will. The foundation supports creative projects (music, film, installations, performances): the funds are not used for education or purchasing equipment, but to hire people to help create the works and to rent equipment. #OliverTree #olivertree #oliver #family #oliverfamily - @._.pdnuayw
