People really dont appreciate how expensive it is to just maintain a home after you buy it. My $420k hm (Now worth $900k) is just 3,200k sq ft and furniture, painting rms, annual tax increases, tree trimming, driveway mudjacking, squirrel removal, lawn weed service, sprinkler annual maintenance, fireplace maintenance, a fence, new carpeting, new roof, new hvac, new bath fans.. sh*t never ends. I spent $490 last week on new fire detectors because, surprise, they expire after 12 years and start chirping (that's $3.5/mo in perpituity). I know I'm blessed, but it's a full time job.

Surah Al-Fajr | Bellissima Recitazione È facile leggere la propria vita attraverso ciò che si possiede. Quando tutto si apre, pensiamo di essere stati onorati. Quando qualcosa viene ristretto, possiamo sentirci dimenticati o meno amati. Ma queste ayat spezzano proprio questa misura. Il valore di una persona davanti ad Allah non si legge nella quantità di ciò che ha ricevuto. Si vede anche in ciò che fa con quello che ha, nel modo in cui tratta chi è più fragile e in ciò a cui permette di occupare il proprio cuore. Arriverà un giorno in cui ricchezza, mancanze e confronti perderanno completamente il loro peso. E allora la vera riuscita sarà aver costruito un’anima capace di tornare ad Allah in pace, soddisfatta di Lui e accolta da Lui. Non tutto ciò che abbiamo qui misura quanto valiamo.
